From the iRig BlueBoard app, follow the procedure to connect to iRig BlueBoard. Once the connection is successful, the iRig BlueBoard status led will light up steady blue. Select the device you want to use from the following list iRig BlueBoard In this mode iRig BlueBoard communicates with the control app (iRig BlueBoard) and the Control app.

The iRig BlueBoard is a Bluetooth LE device that forScore can communicate with directly, without the need for the intermediary BlueBoard app. If you have the BlueBoard app installed, make sure you have forced it closed using these instructions before pairing the device with forScore. With the v3.0 update Tonestack now supports Bluetooth MIDI, so you can now use blueboard without needing the companion app, as long as your blueboard is on the latest firmware. In order to do this you need to hold down the C button when powering on your blueboard, this puts it into BT MIDI CC mode. IRig BlueBoard is IK’s wireless bluetooth MIDI pedalboard, letting you control your music apps and more, right from the floor. For makers: each 3.5mm TRS plug can be connect to 2 switches (switch1: RS, switch2: TS), or you buy the quad version In contrast to to the blueboard there is a very nice Android app to configure the Airturn, where you can set the midi commands, power timeout etc. Downside is the price of 99€.

iRig BlueBoard is the first wireless MIDI pedalboard that allows you to control your music apps and more from the floor.

The iRig BlueBoard features four backlit soft-touch pads housed in a sturdy, a stage-worthy chassis, two TRS expansion jacks for connecting additional MIDI controllers like expression pedals and it's powered by four standard AAA batteries.

If you have a newer Blueboard or have upgraded to the latest firmware, you can also place your iRig Blueboard into Bluetooth MIDI mode. This will let you directly connect the Blueboard to OnSong instead of requiring the use of the Blueboard app on your device.

To use iRig Blueboard with OnSong, you will need to purchase the MIDI Integration Add-On and configure actions in the MIDI Triggers screen.

With this morning’s update to forScore 6.1 and the exciting addition of MIDI integration, it’s worth taking a look at IK Multimedia’s wireless MIDI controller: the iRig Blueboard. We’ve been testing one over the past few weeks and found it to be a compelling and capable controller, worth considering if you’re looking for a page turner.

The popular existing choices, the AirTurn BT-105 and PageFlip Cicada, are distinct takes on what a page turner should be and have their own advantages and disadvantages, but the iRig Blueboard is an even bigger departure: it uses Bluetooth 4.0 for incredible energy efficiency, features four soft backlit buttons instead of pedals, and communicates via MIDI instead of impersonating a standard computer keyboard (which works around iOS’ cumbersome virtual keyboard behavior).

The iRig Blueboard requires an intermediary app to function, so you need to install it and keep it running in the background whenever you want to use the Blueboard. This is perhaps the biggest disadvantage when compared to other page turners, although the app does give you the added ability to program the four backlit buttons to send different signals. You can use forScore to map those signals to specific functions, just like you can with the other page turner options (choose “Settings” from the tools menu, then select “Page turners & shortcuts”). All in all, it’s a great option for anyone who can benefit from MIDI compatibility in other apps, and the best deal for four controls in a power-conscious, self-contained package.
