It’s a difficult place when it gets like this, uh huh
It’s hard to raise a child when it gets like this, uh huh
Oh giving this my all was my only wish, uh huh
But, it’s hard to do you right when it gets like this, uh huh

Your wish, my command, uh huh
So go on, take my hand, uh huh
Go on, take my hand, there’s nothing left to do, uh huh, uh huh
We’re better off as two, uh huh, uh huh

It’s a difficult place when it gets like this, uh huh
It’s hard to teach a child when it gets like this
What they offering you in a place like this?
What they promising you when it gets like this?

Your wish, my command, uh huh
So go on, take my hand, uh huh
Go on, take my hand, there’s nothing left to do, uh huh, uh huh
We’re better off as two, uh huh, uh huh

Brings a tear to my eye when you remind me, uh huh
How you came to my side and you stayed by me, uh huh
You saying I, think it’s time we made that decision, uh huh
It’s the type that you and me won’t even mentioned, uh huh

Your wish, my command, uh huh
So go on, take my hand, uh huh
Go on, take my hand, there’s nothing left to do, uh huh, uh huh
We’re better off as two, uh huh, uh huh

Said I, I did it all for you
You’re all I thought of
(Oh-oh-oh)
Said I, I did it all for you
(Oh-oh)
Held my hand
What they offering you
(Oh-oh)
What they offering you, what they promising you
Cause I swear it’s not better than what I would do

If you haven’t checked out this debut EP by the R&B duo Majid Jordan, right now is a good time to do so. Emerging from Toronto, Canada they are now signed to Drake’s OVO sound record label. The group consists of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman. Assuming that everyone has heard the ever so poppin’ ‘Hold On, We’re Going Home’ by Drake and thought, “damn! whose angelic voice did he sample and where can I find more of this angel’s music”, well that is actually Majid Jordan, party of two, whom also co-produced the hit single.

Point of this post is to keep you hip and clean your slate of all trap filth you’ve been indulging in. Meaning LETS GIVE MIGOS, PEE WEE LONGWAY, & YOUNG THUG a break (but never Gucci Mane, nah FREE HIM. that’s dad.) I get excited when artists like this get recognition, then I have something different to look forward to whether it ends up on the radio or not. I gotta say, The Weeknd pretty much takes the crown for keeping R&B alive and being that Majid Jordan is categorized as R&B, The Weeknd has definitely influenced and redesigned the R&B game. I also see some of their influences being artists like: SBTRKT, The Hics, and The Xx. Although this R&B is not what it used to be, notice that the lyrics are capable of dusting a path for one train of thought rather than a mosaic of emotions. It is innovative and makes me feel damn good. IT’S FEEL GOOD MUSIC! They make me see colors the same way Pharrell makes me see sounds.
